Obituary: Lee P. Beesley

Lee P. Beesley, 68, a Carson City resident for the past eight months, died June 1, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 2, 1934, in Martinez, Calif., to Lambert and Sylvia Jones Beesley.

He married Patricia Cunning on Aug. 23, 1952, in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in California in the San Francisco Bay area and Napa.

Mr. Beesley worked for Pacific Bell for 17 years. He loved sailing, traveling and visiting family and friends. He enjoyed amateur radio.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son, Christian of Chico, Calif.; daughters Wendy Christensen of Minden, Sylvia Dolber of Tehachapi, Calif., Jane Beesley of Whittier, Calif., and Pamala Padilla of Fountain Valley, Calif.; four brothers; four sisters; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be at a later date.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
