Jerry Ronald Smith, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, died May 23, 2003 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Columbus, Ga., to Silas and Dorothy Burkes Smith. He was 68.
Prior to living in Carson City, he lived in California.
Mr. Smith retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years as a financial specialist and retired again 12 years with Union Oil.
He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Among his survivors are his wife, Doris Elvera of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Crystal Smith and granddaughter, Brianna Smith of Carson City; mother, Dorothy of Carson City; and grandson, Ronnie Swedburg Jr. of California.
Services were at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Thursday.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
