BISHOP CREEK AREA, CALIF: Bishop Creek Resorts (760-873-4484) checked in and said the fall colors are spectacular, right now. They are bright and vibrant.


Intake No. 2: Nice results coming in with Power Bait or nightcrawlers. Float tubing with olive Matuka flies or casting Thomas Buoyant lures.


North Lake: Fishing is great with the fall colors fantastic. Olive Matuka flies have been doing very well and yellow/white Stingers.


Sabrina Lake: Was great this week. Nightcrawlers or Rapala lures very good. Some good action with salmon eggs in the back of the lake.


South Lake: The top fish of the week were a 6-pound, 8-ounce Alpers Trophy Rainbow Trout on a Rapala lure and a 5-pound, 2-ounce Alpers Trophy Rainbow on a Panther/Martin lure.


Bishop Creek: Top fish was a 5-pound, 4-ounce Alpers on a Thomas Buoyant lure.

EAGLE LAKE, CALIF: Dave Meserve of the Eagle Lake Marina said: "Fishing continues to be good. We are hearing reports of trout being caught near the Tules near Spaulding and near the Youth Camp.


Fish are averaging between 2 and 4 pounds each.


The largest fish weighed in at the Marina last week was on Saturday at 5-pounds, 12-ounces. It was caught while trolling a nightcrawler behind a flasher.


Shore fishing as also been excellent from the Marina Jetty this past week.


From shore, nightcrawlers and Power Bait are working best."

Anderson: Water flow is 7,000 C.F.S.


Some days producing limits, other days 4-6 fish per day.


Techniques being used include bouncing roe and back-trolling, green and chrome Flatfish lures.

We're catching our Mackinaw trout very early in the morning.


Our biggest the other day was only about 5 pounds.


I've been tagging and releasing the smaller ones.


I troll 250-550 feet deep in the deep-water area in front of Carnelian Bay and King's Beach.


We are using silver, Herring Dodger flasher blades with live minnows or large Apex lures."

Lower Twin Lake: Cary Blue of the Twin Lakes Resort (760-932-7751) reported the weather is perfect and so is the fishing.


Everyone is catching fish and even some 2-3 pounders.


Everything is working at one time or the other including nightcrawlers with marshmallows.


Tubing with flies is doing well also. Black woolly worms, egg-sucking leeches and dries are the choices.


Upper Twin Lake: Annett's Mono Village (760-932-7071) reported the browns are moving up.


A 5.75 pound brown on a trolled, brown woolly bugger fly, a 5-pound, 5-ounce brown on orange Power Bait, a 5-pound, 4-ounce brown on green salmon eggs and a 4-pound, 4-ounce brown on rainbow Power Bait.
