A memorial service for William Lee "Bill" Davis of Fallon, a former resident of Orange, Calif., will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home, 833 North Edmonds Dr.

Mr. Davis died Sept. 13, 2003 at a Reno hospital from complications resulting from a sudden illness. He was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Montrose, Colo. to W.E. "Buddy" and Marie Bopp Davis.

He graduated from Ouray High School, Ouray, Colo. in 1952.

Mr. Davis retired after 37 years of employment with California Production Service, a Compton, Calif., oil drilling and production contractor. He enjoyed "making sawdust" in his woodworking shop, RV camping and fishing, and spending time with his family and his dogs, Aspen and Gus. He was a member of the Ouray Elks Club,

He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during the Korean War.

Among his survivors are his wife, Eleanor "Ellie" Davis; daughter Lori Johnson and sons Brian and Rick Davis, from a previous marriage to Beverly Gunelson Davis; stepdaughters Debi Nemit and Michelle Anderson; stepsons Jerry Saldana and A.J. Wasson; sister Dorothy Smith, of Grand Junction, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to cancer research organizations.
