Kevin Dyer and Tatum Boehnke continued to have impressive efforts for the Carson Tigersharks at the Huskie Invitational on Saturday in Federal Way, Wash.
The young Tigersharks are competing against 49 club teams and five colleges, including UCLA and Washington.
The 14-year-old Dyer has swam to personal bests in all of his events so far at the meet. On Saturday, Dyer swam to a personal best of one minute, 54.22 seconds to take 68th in the 200-yard freestyle. Fourteen-year-old Boehnke also swam to a personal best of 2:08.61 in taking 97th in the 200 free. "Kevin and Tatum are doing a great job," Tigershark coach Jim Puleo said.
Fifteen-year-old Matt Grunert swam to a personal best of 1:08.65 in taking 51st in the 100 breaststroke.
Thirteen-year-old Abby Niehoff settled for 81st in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.66. "Abby's still a little flat, Puleo said. "It's kind of frustrating because she's worked so hard."
The meet concludes today with Grunert in the 200 breaststroke, Niehoff in the 200 fly and Niehoff, Dyer and Boehnke in the 1,650 freestyle.
