Barbara Jean Smith, 72, a Yerington resident for the past nine years, died Feb. 17, 2004, at home. She was born July 3, 1931, in Salt Lake City to Charles Reginald and Violet Naomi Bennett Done.

She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah.

She married Edward "Leeroy" Smith

Mrs. Smith was a bookkeeper, bartender, waitress and change person. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Moose Lodge Chapter 2059.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Among her survivors are her husband of 35 years of Yerington; sister, Valerie Davis of Salt Lake City; sons Jack Biggs of Oregon, Sam Smith of Montana and Reg Smith of Sparks; daughters Sandy Jensen of California, Eddie and Becky of Oregon, Debbie Gelmstedt of Fernley and Geri Smith of Yerington; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Private family services were held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Women of the Moose Chapter 2059, Yerington, NV 89447.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
