A memorial service for Mary Ann Matthews, 100, a Carson City resident for the past 26 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Walton's.

Mrs. Matthews died Feb. 15, 2004, in Carson City. She was born March 24, 1903, in Merkel, Texas, to James and Mary M. Polk Watkins.

Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1977 in Grass Valley, Calif.; and sons Del in 1990, Wayne in 1976 and Lee in 1996.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Clara Morgan of Carson City; sisters Laura Arthur of Gresham, Ore., Winnie Lovett of Carson City and Minnie Norris of Marietta, Calif.; and 95 great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.

Burial will be in Fresno Memorial Gardens in Fresno, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
