Once again, Anderson posted the top score, making 22 of 25 free throws to win the boys 12-13 year-old division. Chappell was top shooter among 8-9 year-old girls.

The state champions advance to the regional event in Las Vegas on March 13. The regional competition will match state champs from Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah and Hawaii. Regional winners will go on to the National Championship in Springfield, Mass., April 22-25. National champions will be honored at the International Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

This past year more than three million boys and girls competed nationwide in the Elks Hoop Shoot. The competition is open to all boys and girls ages 8-13.
