Coyotes fall to Badgers

A second straight heartbreaking loss eliminated the Carson Coyotes Senior Babe Ruth Baseball team from the state tournament.


The Coyotes lost to the Winnemucca Badgers 3-2 on Friday at Sparks High one night after losing 8-7 to the North Tahoe/Truckee Twins.. The Badgers advanced to today's championship round to face the Twins.


The Coyotes lost despite a valiant effort by Josh Camper who pitched a complete game. After allowing two runs in the first and one run in the second, Camper held the Badgers scoreless the rest of the way. Carson scored two runs in the third.


Jarrod Bone had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, Jack Maloney had two hits and an RBI, Brad Breeden had two hits and Camper added a hit for the Coyotes.
