A celebration of life for Richard L. Beaty, 71, a Stagecoach resident for the past 34 years, will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Cathy Silva in Carson City.

Mr. Beaty died June 29, 2004, in Stagecoach. He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Santa Maria, Calif., to Stanley Beaty and Clara Mae Wright.

He attended high school in California.

Before moving to Stagecoach, he lived in Stevinson, Calif., for 30 years.

Mr. Beaty retired as a maintenance engineer for the state of Nevada's Clear Creek Youth Facility. He was active in the Carson City Search and Rescue program. He loved to race off-road vehicles and hunt deer.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 1994, son, Rich, in 1993 and granddaughter, Dancia, in 1990.

Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Angie Beaty of Dayton; daughter Michelle Beaty of Reno and daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Dan Silva of Carson City.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
