Carson well represented at NCAAs

Carson City will be well represented this week at the NCAA Women's Swimming Championships this week in College Station, Texas.

Carson High graduates Lauren Costella and Julie and Kate Hardt will all compete in the event to be held Thursday through Saturday.

Costella, a freshman at Stanford who also swims for the Carson Tigersharks, is seeded 11th in the 1,500-meter freestyle, 28th in the 400 free and 49th in the 400 individual medley.

Julie Hardt, a senior at Georgia, is seeded 22nd in the 1,500, 18th in the 200 free and 32nd in the 400 free.

Kate Hardt, a sophomore at the University of Minnesota, is seeded 34th in the 200 free and 52nd in the 400 free.
