A memorial service for Ron Funk, 58, of Genoa, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Chapel in Gardnerville.

Mr. Funk died May 24, 2004, in Minden. He was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Van Nuys, Calif., to William and June Trosper Funk. He was raised in Southern California and the San Fernando Valley. He has been living in the Carson Valley for the past 26 years.

Mr. Funk served in the U.S. Navy as a diver for more than three years. He was a member of Carson Valley Calvary Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy.

Among his survivors are his wife of 38 years, Cheryl, of Genoa; sons and daughters-in-law Travis and Wendy and Dusty and Mindy, all of Minden; and grandchildren Cody, Sterling, Dalton, Cole, Haley and Audrey May.

Memorial contributions may be made to Barton Hospice, 1617 Water St., No. K, Minden, NV 89423.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
