Carson City's Silver State Gymnastics Academy had another successful meet this past weekend in the Monster Mash Invitational held in Sparks.

The competition was comprised of teams from Northern Nevada and California. Samantha Cobb was the class of the field in the level 6, 12 and over age division. She dominated the competition, winning the all-around title by placing second on vault and the uneven bars, and by winning the balance beam and floor exercise.

Two of Cobb's level 6 teammates helped secure the second place team trophy. Hannah Winder took home a bronze, gold, and silver on bars, beam, and floor, respectively, in the 9-11 year old division. Ciara Maradiaga made her contribution to the team with outstanding performances on both bars and beam to earn her a pair of bronze medals.

Two other level 4 gymnasts of note were Mikayla Story who had a great showing in only her second meet. She placed second on vault and third on beam on her way to a fourth place All-Around finish in the 9-10 year old age division. Also, Louisa Lopez helped pick up the slack by winning bars and placing third on floor to help clinch the 3rd place team award. In addition to its competitive team, Silver State Gymnastics Academy offers classes for toddlers through advanced gymnasts.
