John Scott Ellis, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, died Nov. 8, 2004, at his home. He was 40.
He was born Aug. 6, 1964, to James L. and Alis Ellis in Harvey, Ill.
Mr. Ellis grew up in Park Forest, Ill., where he attended Rich East High School. He worked in the casino industry.
Mr. Ellis was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1982 to 1989 in Germany and Colorado.
He was a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1996.
Among his survivors are his mother of Park Forest; friend Maureen Davis of Carson City; sister Barbara Rigney of Los Banos, Calif.; son Michael, sister Karen Brandin, and brother James E., all of Park Forest; and nieces and nephews Keith, Christopher, Marcus, Lauren, Jessica, Lyndsie and Jenna.
Services will be private.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
