Successful completion of a hunter education class is required in the State of Nevada for anyone born after Dec. 31, 1959 who intends to purchase a Nevada hunting license.

There is a $5 fee for attending a hunter education class.

All students must pre-register, obtain course materials and complete a workbook (100%) prior to attending the class.

A class will be offered:

Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 26-27 (from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.) in Reno at the NDOW headquarters at 1100 Valley Road.

All classes are taught by volunteer instructors certified by the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) or employees of NDOW.

Some of the various hunter education subjects to be covered include the safe handling of rifles, pistols and handguns, archery, hunter ethics, conservation, first-aid and wilderness survival.

For information, call the Nevada Department of Wildlife at 688-1559 during business hours.
