A Nevada hunter education course will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The successful completion of an authorized hunter education course is required for anyone, born after Dec. 31, 1959, interested in purchasing a Nevada hunting license.

The course will cover, among other topics, archery, conservation, hunter ethics, the safe handling of pistols, rifles and shotguns, wilderness survival, etc.

An attendee must attend the entire day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.), complete a workbook prior to the day of instruction and be able to successfully pass a written test in order to complete the course.

Participants should be at least 11 years old.

The registration fee is $5 per person, with anyone under the age of 18 admitted free.

At the time of registration, a workbook and text will be given to the participant.
