A celebration of life for Jack Gable, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church (small chapel) with Sister Marie McGloin officiating.

Mr. Gable died Sept. 22, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital of a stroke. He was born May 24, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Frank and Edna Milledge Gable.

He married Boni Lee Dunlap on Nov. 11, 1988, in Carson City.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Des Moines.

Mr. Gable owned and operated Haman Motors in Des Moines. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a World War II veteran and a B52 pilot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers and his first wife of 42 years, Doris Mae.

Among his survivors are his wife; sons Michael of Minneapolis, Minn., and Marc of Fullerton, Calif.; stepsons Neil Quinly of Los Angeles and Mark Quinly of Niagra Falls, N.Y.; brothers Dean and Pete Gable, both of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School Tuition Assistance Fund, 3000 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV 89706.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
