Funeral services for Milton J. Marti, 90, formerly of Carson City, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Catholic Church in Michigan. He died Sept. 23, 2004, in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was born March 12, 1914, in Mason City, Iowa, to Jacob J. and Pearl Wendel Marti.

Mr. Marti worked for the University of Michigan for 20 years before retiring in 1979, when he moved to Carson City. He returned to Michigan in 1996.

He worked for the Department of the Army and did some auditing for the Big Three automakers.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, swimming, skiing, going to basketball and football games and frequent trips to Lake Tahoe.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helen V. McFadden, and sister, Bernice.

Among his survivors are sons and daughters-in-law Bruce and Mary Ellen of Canton, Mich., Jan and Rosene of Battle Creek, Mich., and Kim and Mary of Chino Hills, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law Curtis and Dallas of North Mankato, Minn., and Jay and Marilyn of New Ulm, Minn.
