Job hunters from Fallon to Truckee can peruse employment opportunities at today's spring career fair on Western Nevada Community College's Carson City campus.

More than 25 employers and agencies will be at WNCC's Cedar Building, 2201 W. College Parkway, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. One college official said she anticipates from 800 to 1,000 job seekers to attend the event.

Gail Powell-Acosta, regional advertising director for Tahoe-Carson Area Newspapers, which operates the Nevada Appeal, said Friday that every year it partners with WNCC and Citadel Broadcasting to offer employment opportunities and seminars to Northern Nevada residents.

"There was a need within our community to assist companies for all industries and introduce them to hundreds of potential candidates," she said. "Our partnership with WNCC gave us the perfect forum to invite businesses to mingle and converse with the public."

The newspaper and broadcast companies circulated information on the career fair and the two seminars, "Building a Better Résumé" and "Interviewing Techniques."
