A memorial service for William B. Swisher, 75, a Gardnerville resident for the past 12 years, will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, in Ventura, Calif.
Mr. Swisher died July 22, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospice in Reno. He was born June 9, 1930, in New Castle, Pa., to Mont Eugene and Charlotte Brown Swisher.
He married Joan Criss on May 16, 1956, in New Castle.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Ventura.
Mr. Swisher worked in title insurance.
He was preceded in death by brother, Robert.
Among his survivors are wife of Gardnerville; children Susan Marie Rupp of Ojai, Calif., William Jeffrey Swisher of Gardnerville, Kay Ann Waypa of Michigan and John W. Sontag of Michigan; grandchildren Erin M. McNerney, Tim FitzGerald, Hannah FitzGerald, Ru Rupp and Olive Rupp, all of Ojai; Eric Swisher of Grass Valley, Calif., and Arthur Swisher of Gardnerville.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
