(Staff report) - State, federal and city offices will be closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday.

School will not be in session in the Carson, Storey, Lyon or Douglas school districts.

Western Nevada Community College campuses and learning centers in Carson City, Fallon, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington will be closed.

The Carson City Marriage Bureau, 885 E. Musser St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today through Sunday.

The front counter of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed.

Carson City Senior Citizens and Dayton Senior Center, Douglas County Senior Center and Silver Spring Senior Center will be closed.

The Carson City and Silver Stage public libraries will be closed.

Lyon and Douglas county public libraries, other county offices and the marriage bureau will be closed.

Most banks will be closed today, including Colonial Bank and Wells Fargo.

Jump Around Carson buses will not operate. Call 887-2323 for information.

The Nevada State Museum will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be running a train and providing free rides for toy donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

The Nevada Appeal will publish as usual; business offices will be open today.
