A funeral for Vivian H. Pence, 85, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Walton's.

Mrs. Pence died Sept. 13, 2005, in Carson City.

She was born April 10, 1920, in Rockford, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. James H. Cochrane.

She attended Rockford High School.

She married James Pence on Dec. 6, 1941, in Chicago.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Fairfield, Calif., for 40 years.

Mrs. Pence was office manager for a moving and storage company in Fairfield. She belonged to the Presbyterian church. She enjoyed planning and celebrating the holidays with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; son James Jr. and brother, James.

Among her survivors are her son Bob of Carson City; grandchildren Theresa Morris, Jay Pence and Marcus Mahan; and three great-grandchildren.

Entombment will be at Walton's Carson Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
