Fall wild turkey tags deadline is Sept. 1

Those hunters who wish to be included in the upcoming drawing for tags to hunt wild turkeys in the State of Nevada, this fall, have until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1 to submit their applications.

Those hunting applications are available at license agents, Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) regional offices or on the Internet.

Hunters may apply on the Internet at www.ndow.org.

Applications must be received at the Wildlife Administrative Services office in Fallon by 5 p.m. on Sept. 1 to be eligible for the tag drawing.

Available this year for residents are 45 tags for the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area in Lyon County and 20 tags for Moapa Valley in Clark County

There are open quotas for Churchill County and Lyon County, excluding the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area. Applicants for these open quota areas are advised that a significant portion of the wild turkey population occurs on private land and permission must be secured from landowners before hunting on private lands.

Tag drawing results will be available on Sept. 15.

Resident Fees: Tag fee is $20, nonrefundable fees $13 ($10 application fee, $3 predator management fee).

Internet Online Convenience fee: $2 for each resident application submitted in addition to the nonrefundable fees.
