A burial for Etelka Green Cartier, a Wellington resident since 1992, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Mrs. Cartier died Aug. 13, 2006, at her home. She was born Sept. 2, 1919, in Louin, Miss., to Andrew Jackson Green and Isadore Waites.

She was a college graduate.

She retired from federal civil service working for the Department of the U.S. Navy at Seal Beach, Calif.

Before moving to Wellington, she and her husband traveled the United States for eight years in a recreational vehicle. They visited all 50 states.

She was preceded in death by husband Paul K. Cartier II on Jan. 1, 2002 in Wellington; and by sister Margie Carr on March 29, 2002 in Jackson, Miss.; and by one nephew.

Among her survivors are her daughters Linda Ingram of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Jackie Goodson of Wellington; son, John Sullivan of Santa Paula, Calif.; sisters Etoile Scott, Evelyn Leggett and Eletha Walley, all of Waynesboro, Miss., Lanita Shows of Garden Grove, Calif., and Jackie Beard of Jackson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
