LaVerna May Andrews, 90, a three-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 14, 2006, in Carson City.

Mrs. Andrews was born May 5, 1916, in Billings, Mont., to Andrew Proffer and Florence Norlin.

She married John Andrews on Nov. 4, 1972, in Reno.

She went to high school in Bridger, Mont.

Mrs. Andrews lived in Florence, Ore., before coming to Nevada.

She worked in the food and beverage service.

She enjoyed operating her Ham radio with her call sign of N7SJG.

She was preceded in death by her husband in Florence.

Among her survivors are her son, Bill Mann, of Carson City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three nephews.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory. Inurnment will take place at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Eugene, Ore.

Memorial donations may be made to the Carson City Animal Services, 3770 Butti Way, Carson City, NV 89701.

The family would like to thank the staff and management of Evergreen Mountain View Care Center's Alzheimer's unit.
