Margaret Edith Courtney, 87, a 20-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 26, 2006, in Carson City.

Mrs. Courtney was born May 25, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Earl MacBride and Edith Geiger.

Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Courtney lived in Franklin, Mich.

She was a graduate of Purdue University and a homemaker.

She was a docent for the Nevada State Museum.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl; and sister, Virginia.

Among her survivors are her husband, Dan R. Courtney of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Caryl Courtney of Lithia, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Tom Howard of Long Lake, Minn.; daughter and longtime companion Dana Courtney and Bob of Ironwood, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
