Aurea Galvan, 58, a five-year Sparks resident, died Dec. 16, 2006, at Renown Health Care Center in Reno.

Ms. Galvan was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Rafael and Rosa Maria Olmos Galvan.

She worked as a waitress to help her family at a young age.

Before moving to Sparks, Ms. Galvan lived in Carson City for seven years.

She was a member of Corpus Christy Catholic Church, and enjoyed dancing, traveling and praying.

Among her survivors are sons Jose Gutierrez and Ismael Galvan, both of Mexico; brothers Miguel Galvan of Carson City, Rafeal Galvan of Mexico and Noe Galvan of Dayton; sisters Rosa M. Galvan, Ana M. Galvan and Elvira Galvan, all of Carson City, and Yolanda Cid of Dayton; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary was said Dec. 18, 2006, at Autumn Funerals and Cremations.

Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
