A funeral service for William Leonard Prout, 66, an eight-year resident of Carson City, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the Northern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Prout died Feb. 9, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 14, 1939, in San Francisco to Leonard Wilfred Prout and Eleanor Theresa Conley.

He married Carol Ann Prout on Dec. 16, 2000, in Carson City.

Prior to moving to Carson City, he lived in Hawthorne, Calif.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, stationed at Point Ford Ord, Calif. He received the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal and was a sharpshooter.

He was a member of the North American Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1949 and his father in 1989.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters Tina Marie Trewartha of Fountain Valley, Calif., Tamara Diana Prout of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Teresa Roseanna Williams of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sons Herbert Ried Wilson of Huntsville, Texas, and Shawn Eric Wilson of Torrance, Calif.; sisters Allison Prout-Hollen of Sun Valley, Calif., and Kathleen Mable Rooney of Ohio; brothers Robert Lee Prout of Apple Valley, Calif., Charles Lawrence King of Torrance and Joseph Edward King of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nine grandchildren; one uncle; and one aunt.

FitzHenry's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
