Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home for Joseph R. Hernandez, 56, a 30-year resident of Carson City. A funeral will follow there at 2 p.m.

Mr. Hernandez died Dec. 31, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Salinas, Calif., to Barnabee and Marie Rodriguez Hernandez.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Monterey, Calif.

He worked in the manufacturing industry.

He was a Catholic.

He enjoyed reading, bingo, watching TV, playing poker and slot machines, and his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Alberta Tremayne.

His survivors include his son, Clayton John of California; brothers John Perry of Seaside, Calif., Richard of Puyallup, Wash., Al of Carson City and Barnabee Jr. of Salinas; sisters Marie Lane of Watsonville, Calif., and Vera Hernandez of Carson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
