A graveside service for Velma Evans, 90, a Carson City resident since 1964, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans died July 13, 2006, in Carson City.

She was born April 24, 1916, in Whitehall, Mont., to Rollo S. and Nadien Tuttle.

Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Evans lived in Southern California.

She worked for the Nevada Legislative Council Bureau from 1964 until she retired in 1983 as the legal editor of publications.

She enjoyed painting, sewing and music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Leon Evans in 1989; son Douglas Wayne Evans in 1978; sisters Betty Davis and Helen Conrad; and brother, Harold Tuttle.

Among her survivors are sons and daughters-in-law Gilbert L. and Lois Evans of Belgrade, Mont., Mark R. and Janet of Belgrade; son James of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon R. and James Newman of Carson City and Coral E. and Frank Pedlar of Silver City; daughter Dorothy E. Bruce of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
