The Carson City Library will present an evening of music to benefit an organization dedicated to providing students with needed school supplies.

Preparing for Student Achievement with School Supplies, or PASS, is administered by the Dialogue to End Child Homelessness and Hunger and Carson City Health and Human Services.

Admission to the PASS benefit is free, but a donation of school supplies or money is suggested.

Please bring new school supplies, such as boxes of No. 2 pencils, pencil boxes, rulers, backpacks, etc., or donate cash. All supplies will be distributed anonymously to low-income children by PASS through Carson City schools at the beginning of the school year.

Celtic band Wild Sage will provide a rousing evening of jigs, reels, hornpipes and waltzes. The band features Jack Shipley on hammer dulcimer, Cory King on guitar and mandolin, Chris Bayer on fiddle and concertina, and Laura Haugen on djembe.

The Leeping Lassies will demonstrate soft and hard-shoe Irish dancing.

PASS will be collecting donations and supplies at the concert and through the end of August.
