Sheryl 'Shemeril' Lewis Deveau

A celebration of life for Sheryl "Shemeril" Lewis Deveau, 55, a Carson City resident, will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mrs. Deveau died June 18, 2006, in Carson City. She was born Nov. 11, 1950, at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana to Charles Lewis. and Sharron Newman.

She attended Catholic parochial school in Miami and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1972.

She taught elementary school in Carson City from 1973 and 1979. From 1982 through 2002 she worked at ARCO in Alaska.

Before moving back to Carson City, Mrs. Deveau lived in Alaska.

She belonged to the Kiwanis and other service groups.

She was preceded in death by her father and stepson Edward John Deveau.

She enjoyed crafts, quilting, entertaining, her Volkswagen Bug, Bunco, pedicures, planting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Among her survivors are her husband, Edward Deveau; her mother; stepbrother Greg Warren; stepdaughter Shelley Olson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
