A memorial service for Iluminada S. Delacruz, 67, an 18-year resident of Gardnerville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, with burial following at the Eastside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Minden. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Mrs. Delacruz died March 5, 2006, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno.

She was born March 5, 1939, in the Philippines to Jose Sambo and Melecia Rosario.

She married William Delacruz on Dec. 23, 1975, in Chicago.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Chicago for more than 20 years.

She had a bachelor's degree in technology from the Far Eastern University in the Philippines. She was a medical technologist at Carson-Tahoe Hospital for 17 years.

She was a Catholic and enjoyed working in her garden.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; son, Richard of San Francisco; sister, Aurora Santiago of Pacifica, Calif.; and brothers Ray Sambo of Minden and Glicirio Sambo of Downers Grove, Ill.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
