Carole J. Bettencourt, 61, a six-year Gardnerville resident, died March 20, 2006, in Reno.
Mrs. Bettencourt was born Feb. 4, 1945, in Glendale, Calif., to Jack and Ruth Pilkinton.
She married John J. Bettencourt on Nov. 29, 1996, at Lake Tahoe.
Before moving to Gardnerville she lived in Foster City, Calif.
She worked for Franklin Bank of California for six years and spent 30 years in banking prior to retirement.
She was a member of the Foster City Chamber of Commerce.
She enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; mother Ruth Pilkinton-Hall; sister Mary E. Swagler; and brother John L. Pilkinton all of Minden.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
