What's open and closed for the Memorial Day holiday

• All public schools will be out of session in Carson, Storey, Lyon and Douglas school districts.

• All Western Nevada Community College campuses and learning centers will be closed.

• United States Postal Service offices will be closed nationwide.

• All area Senior Citizens Centers will be closed.

• The Carson City Sheriff's Department's front desk and fingerprinting will be closed. Officers will patrol as usual.

• The Carson City Public Library will be closed.

• Jump Around Carson will not be running on Memorial Day.

• The Nevada State Museum will be open regular hours on Memorial Day with regular rates.

• The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be open regular hours on Memorial Day. The train will be running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and service men and women, active duty, retired or veterans, will be given free train rides.

• The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will be closed.

• All Lyon County public offices will be closed.

• The Douglas County Public Library will be closed.

• All Douglas County public offices will be closed for Memorial Day, with the exception of the Tahoe Marriage License Bureau which will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• The Douglas County Sheriff's Department front desk will be closed. Officers will patrol as usual.

• The Douglas Area Rural Transit (DART) bus system will not be running Memorial Day.

• The Federal Reserve is closed Memorial Day. Because of this most banks will be closed as well; check your local branch membership number to find out.

• Citifare in Reno will run on a Sunday schedule, and PRIDE service will run on a normal schedule Memorial Day. Call 348-RIDE for information.
