Beginner classes are 5:15-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Advanced classes are 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday.

What I do: We're teaching affordable Jujitsu and Karate for all age levels. We have a special focus on traditional values of respect and self-discipline.

Why the business moved: We wanted to expand it. We doubled our size. We have more than 1,200-square-feet of mat space. We also increased our visitor seating. We needed more room for seven black-belt instructors. We added Wave Masters, a specialized kicking bag and Bobs, a life-sized punching and kicking dummy. Our grand re-opening is 10 a.m.-noon on June 24. We will feature demonstrations and free self-defense clinics for all ages.

Why I operate a business in Carson City: I've operated the school for more than 10 years, we survived the Waterfall fire near our former location. I'm also the successor to our martial arts teaching.

Business accomplishments: We've grown our school and moved to a larger location. My parent organization The American Jujitsu Karate Association has designated me as a successor of the organization.

My favorite martial arts move: Jujitsu because it allows you to control your opponents and gives you options on what level of self-defense to use.
