CASA, church to hold pasta feast


CASA, First Presbyterian Church Mission Committee, and Grandma Hattie's Restaurant will be holding the fourth annual CASA Pasta Feast starting at 6 p.m. Friday at the church, located at the corner of Nevada and Musser streets. There will be a silent auction, raffles and entertainment.


Children under five are free with a parent. Adults are $20, children aged 13-18 are $12 and children aged 6-12 are $8. An eight-person table is $200. For information, call 882-6776 or visit www.casaofcc.org.


Sign up for booths for fair ends Friday


The deadline to sign up for a booth at the Stewart Indian Colony's Holiday Fair is Friday.


The booth fee is $25 and there are a limited number of tables and chairs available. Native American and non-Indian vendors are welcome, and vendor donations for the raffle are being accepted.


The fair will take place from 1 - 7 p.m. Nov. 10, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Nov. 11 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Stewart Community Center, located at 465 Clear Creak Road. For information, call 790-2983 or 313-4871 after 9 p.m.


'Brigadoon' comes to Carson City


The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company will present "Brigadoon" the weekends of Nov. 4 through 19 at the Carson City Community Center.


Admission to individual shows is $18 general, $16 for students and seniors, and $14 for youth 17 and younger.

Martial arts club to hold open class


Shoshin Ryo Martial Arts Club is holding an open class for adults and children aged 6 and older in Dan Zan Ryu Jijitsu from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at 379 Highway 50 East, unit 221. For information, call 292-0591.


Elks hold 'Turkey Roundup' for FISH


Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 is having a "Turkey Roundup" for the people who Friends In Service Helping will be helping during the holiday season from 2 - 9 p.m. Saturday, and 2 - 9 p.m. Nov. 7 through 11 at the lodge, 515 N. Nevada St. The community is asked to bring frozen turkeys to be placed in FISH's freezers for families in need. If there are leftover turkeys from Thanksgiving, they will be held for use for Christmas meal baskets.

Church to hold craft fair Saturday


Carson Valley United Methodist Church will host a Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. There will be handcrafted decorations and homemade baked goods available for purchase as well as a white elephant sale and a silent auction. A new Children's Corner for face painting and other activities will be open. A chili lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes chili, cornbread, salad and coffee. Cost of the lunch is $5 for adults, $3 for children. Soft drinks will be available for $1; individual baked desserts will also be available for purchase. Call 265-3285.
