A memorial service for John Patrick Warnecke, 22, a Charlottesville, Va., and Miami resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 W. High St. in Charlottesville.

Mr. Warnecke died Nov. 2, 2006, in Miami, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born July 16, 1984, in Jacksonville, Fla., to U.S. Navy Capt. John Richard Warnecke and Mary Karen Canty Warnecke.

He was a senior at the University of Miami, majoring in international studies and Spanish, and minoring in economics and Portuguese. He was scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2007.

Among his survivors are his parents of Charlottesville; brothers Christopher Paul Warnecke of Charlottesville and Timothy John Warnecke of Silver Springs, Md.; twin brother Midshipman First Class Matthew Palmer Warnecke, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.; grandmother Joan F. Heftye of Sanibel Island, Fla.; grandfather Jack G. Warnecke of Carson City; and several extended family members.

Burial will take place at the All Saints Memorial Garden at Christ Episcopal Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the John Patrick Warnecke Scholarship Fund, University of Miami, care of Holly Davis, University Advancement, McKnight Blvd., Coral Gables, Fla., 33124.

Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville is in charge of arrangements.
