A visitation for Geraldine Smokey Collett, 80, a lifetime Nevada resident, will be noon-2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, with the burial immediately following at Lone Mountain Cemetery, and a reception at the Dresslerville Gymnasium in Dresslerville.

Mrs. Collett died Nov. 10, 2006, at her home after an illness. She was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Minden to William and Sadie Joe Smokey.

She graduated from the Stewart Indian School in 1945.

She married Howard F. "Peanut" Collett on Sept. 4, 1954, in Las Vegas.

She was the bank teller at the Stewart Indian School for many years until the school closed. She retired in 1981 and traveled around Europe until 1985.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by siblings Huntington, Thomas, Carnegie, Romaine and Lucille Smokey, Freida Wyatt, Bernice Auchoberry, Theresa Jackson and Joann Martinez.

Among her survivors are her children Howard F. Collett Jr. and Joann Thomas; three grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
