A memorial service for Arna Emma Wertz, 83, a Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Family Church.
Mrs. Wertz died Nov. 13, 2006, at her home. She was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Ashland, Ky., to James and Reba Pennington.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Family Church and the former president of the nonprofit charity organization Natives and Newcomers.
She was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Wertz, and brother James Pennington.
Among her survivors are her son Dennis of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Debbie Wertz of Dayton; brothers and sisters-in-law William and Julia Pennington and Donald and Marilyn Pennington; sister Mary Alice Zepp; sister-in-law Mary Pennington; daughter-in-law Dorothy and her husband James Waller; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
