A Carson City woman suspected of embezzling money from a former employer is wanted in connection with the passing of a counterfeit check in the name of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.

The warrant charges Regina Lynn Blades, 37, with two counts of felony embezzlement from G&G Motors where she was employed last month, said Lt. Bob White.

According to White, Blades allegedly had access to the owner's checkbook and cashed an estimated $15,000 in checks.

While the embezzlement warrant was being issued, said White, Blades' name came up when deputies arrested two men Monday at a South Carson Street motel on counterfeit check charges.

Justin Robert Box, 35, is being held in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of possession of a forged instrument, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. And John Daniel Christy, 37, is being held on suspicion of possession of a forged instrument, possession of counterfeit money, false identification, and being a felon who failed to register.

Deputies allegedly recovered a typewriter, blank checks, a photo copier, fake IDs and other miscellaneous office supplies that could be used in the production of fraudulent checks.

White said the investigation of Box and Christy led detectives to a Carson City casino where they recovered two checks, purportedly cashed by Blades under an assumed name. One of the checks was drawn on the Carson City Sheriff's Office Inmate Trust Fund in the amount of $1,232, and the other was for more than $1,000 coming from G&G Auto.

White said Blades is known to wear wigs and has used the names Patricia Lynn Miller, and Tina Sotero when cashing the fraudulent checks.

Anyone with information on Blades' whereabouts is asked to call the Detective Division at 887-2020 ext. 1404.
