Yerington volleyball clinches tie for first

Yerington (31-2, 15-1) clinched a tie for first in the Northern 3A with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 win. The Lions will have to settle for the No. 2 seed in the Northern 3A playoffs to be held a week from Saturday if Lowry sweeps Truckee and North Tahoe this weekend. Lowry would then host regionals.

In that scenario, the Lions would play the winner between the No. 3 and No. 6 seed. The top three teams advance to the NIAA 3A State Championships.

Against Incline, Kayla Lommori had 14 kills, four blocks and six digs, Dena Helme had 15 kills, two blocks and four digs, Kiara Rosse had five kills, 15 assists, two blocks and 12 digs, Angela Marraccini had three kills and 10 digs, Tashina Conner had three blocks, Bre Tognoli had two blocks and 16 assists, Danelle Bristol had seven digs and Mari Cliften added three digs.
