Thomas Orr, 83, a Minden resident since 1986, died Sept. 1, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Orr was born July 8, 1923, in Onawa, Iowa, to Robert Orr and Stella Carnes.
Before moving to Minden, Mr. Orr lived at Long Beach, Calif.
He worked for Bekins for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Herrin Orr.
Among his survivors are his second wife, Allene Blower Orr, of Minden; son Thomas Daniel Orr of Great Mills, Md.; daughter Judith Young of Oroville, Calif.;step-daughters Carllene Napolitano of Gardnerville, Kerry Kirkham of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Sherry Kirkham of Pacheco, Calif.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
