A celebration of life for Sheryll Duke, 61, a two-year Spanish Springs resident, will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 7 at First Baptist Church, 1750 Mountain St. in Carson City.

Mrs. Duke died Sept. 18, 2006, at OHSU Hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Burbank, Calif., to Wallace and June Harvey.

Before moving to Spanish Springs, Mrs. Duke lived in Carson City for 28 years.

She married Paul Duke on Oct. 23, 1964.

She worked for SIIS/Employers Insurance Co.

She was a past board member for the Carson City Babe Ruth and Little League, and belonged to the First Baptist Church of Carson City and the New Life Baptist Church in Spanish Springs.

She enjoyed camping, swimming, outdoor sports and the Giants.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Tom Brown; sons and daughters-in-law David and Alicia Duke and John and Jacqueline Duke; sisters and brothers-in-law Jenny and Bob Galentine and Patty and Nate Cerniglia; sibling Chris Harvey; six grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Autumn Crematory in Portland, Ore., is in charge of arrangements.
