Lysander A. Brann Jr., 84, a 23-year Dayton resident, died March 31, 2007, in Dayton.

Mr. Brann was born Feb. 17, 1923, in Maine, to Lysander A. Brann Sr. and Ida M. Adams Brann.

He married Eleanor Marston on June 26, 1944, in Portland, Maine.

Before moving to Dayton, Mr. Brann lived in Costa Mesa, Calif.

He was a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry, and owned Brann's Hardware Store in Dayton.

He enjoyed fishing and horses.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Among his survivors are his wife of 63 years of Dayton; sons and daughters-in-law Stephen and Pamela Brann of Dayton and Ronald and Patricia Brann of Carson City; daughter Jill Edgerly of Dayton; sisters Esther Jensen and Laura, both of Massachusetts, and Barbara Salvatore of Connecticut; brother Lynwood Brann of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
