A memorial service for Roberta Redican, 71, a third-generation Nevadan, will be 1 p.m. April 14 at the Dayton Community Center.

Mrs. Redican died April 3, 2007, at her home in Dayton. She was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Elko to Charles Wellington Morse and Cleo Hoppe.

Mrs. Redican moved to Carson City in 1954 and Dayton in 2002.

She belonged to the Dayton Lions Club, the Carson Lions Club, the Carson Emblem Club, Retired Public Employees of Nevada, the American Business Women's Association, the Nevada Democratic Central Committee North and the MORSE Society.

She enjoyed traveling with her dog in her motor home, and with her sisters, hunting, camping, genealogy, and spending the holidays with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by former husband Thomas M. Redican and brothers Charles and Delbert Morse.

Among her survivors are son and daughter-in-law Tom and Pattie Redican of Virginia City; daughters and sons-in-law Tonie and Kirk Berryman of Fremont, Calif., Debbie and Greg Shulte of Sacramento and Terry and Mike Gump of Reno; sisters Madeline Harding of Salt Lake City, Judy Sestanovich of Twin Falls, Idaho and Sally Huston of Wells; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all of Northern Nevada.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
