A memorial service for Estel Edgar Sitze, 91, a one-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Mr. Sitze died April 5, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Grassy, Mo., to Floyd and Millie Sitze.

He married Vera Anna Sitze on Sept. 29, 1940.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Alhambra, Calif., for 52 years.

He attended Pasadena City College.

He was a hardwood broker and owned his own company, Estel Sitze Co.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Sitze was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; sons and daughters-in-law Paul and Linda Sitze of Carson City, Philip and Arlene of Susanville, Calif., and Robert and Chris Sitze of Wheaton, Ill.; sister Ruby Atrops of Oxnard, Calif.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Bible Society, Lutheran Bible Translators, World Vision or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
