A memorial service for Perry "Phil" Phillips, 68, a 12-year Wellington resident, will be 10 a.m. April 21, at United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.

Mr. Phillips died April 11, 2007, in Wellington. He was born July 6, 1938, in Van Nuys, Calif., to Perry Phillips Sr. and Lorna Bloom.

He married Garlene Coffman on July 7, 1958, in Reno.

Before moving to Wellington, Mr. Phillips lived in Mojave, Calif.

He graduated from Conga Park High School. He was a heavy-equipment operator and a truck driver for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He was in the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by son Larry Phillips in 1991 in Mojave, Calif.

Among his survivors are his wife of Wellington; sons and daughters-in-law Douglas and Julie Phillips of Granite Bay, Calif., and Norman and Kathy Phillips of Palmdale, Calif.; son Don Phillips of Tehachapi, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law Elaine and Kenneth Metcalf of Rocklin, Calif., and Diane and Eugene George of Galt, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous extended-family members.

Memorial donations may be made to Barton Hospice or a charity of choice.

Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
