A memorial service for Norma E. Bernard Cain, 77, a Carson City resident and fourth-generation Nevadan, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Cain died April 17, 2007, in Carson City. She was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Portola, Calif., to James N. Bernard and Isabella Delone Buchanan.

She grew up in Carson City and lived in Reno for 49 years before returning.

She worked for Sierra Pacific Power Co. and was a secretary for Orvis Ring Elementary School.

She had been the city clerk for Carson City.

She was active in Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star and was a majorette for the Carson Municipal Band.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell R. Cain, in July 2000; brother, Lowell C. Bernard; and sister, Margaret L. Janes.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Paige Cain of Sparks; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Rick Cobos of Lemmon Valley; grandsons Brian Cain and James Cobos; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice Fund, 520 W. Sixth St., Reno, NV, 89503.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
