Eleanor Fabri Parke

A funeral for Eleanor Fabri Parke, 85, a longtime area resident, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Highway 208 in Yerington. Burial will follow at the Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Parke died April 25, 2007, at Long Term Care in South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington. She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Yerington, to Louise Fabri and Gemma Masini Fabri.

She married Merle Parke in 1946.

Before returning to Yerington in 1999, Mrs. Parke lived in Long Beach, Calif.

She was educated in the local school system and graduated from business college. In Long Beach her husband purchased and resold boats. The business expanded and partnering with family and they operated the Sun Harbor Marina in San Diego. They later purchased Charter Yacht Brokerage, where Mrs. Parke served as accountant, operations manager and CEO.

She worked for the Nevada Legislature for many years in the early 1940s.

She was a Catholic and had attended the Holy Family Catholic Church in her youth.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 2, 2001.

Among her survivors are her brother, Harry Fabri of Los Altos, Calif.; four nieces; three nephews and several cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
